April Danann, the Natural Rebel has a very busy diary.  As well as having a regular spot with her Natural Rebel Market Stall at Skibbereen Farmers Market, Clonakilty Country Market and Herbert Park Market, she also brings her own Natural Rebel wares to events all over Ireland.  In addition, her warm manner and engaging knowledge, make her a popular speaker at numerous  events.

April Danann partners with Madeline McKeever of Brown Envelope Seeds to present their once a year Wild Foraging Walk and Talk on healing herbs, local flora, fauna and all things natural during A Taste of West Cork Festival. Join these West Cork women for a wild foraging adventure in search of medicinal, edible and local herbs, shoots, berries and leaves on a farm walk to the sea shore deep in West Cork. This workshop includes: notes, fermented drinks made with herbs, wild soup and sourdough breads.

The Irish Fermentation Festival at The Organic Centre in Rossinver, County Leitrim celebrates all things fermented, bringing together some fabulous Fermentistas to share their wisdom and experience in a day of talks, demonstrations and tastings.  April Danann will be one of the speakers amongst an impressive line up of experts.

'This year the cutting edge food festival will have an international dimension with Charlotte Pike, Maya Hey and Jamie Simpson.  The Irish “International” contingent will be made up of seaweed expert Dr. Prannie Rhatigan, Michelin star chef and organiser of Food on the Edge JP McMahon from Galway, Dearbhla Reynolds from Belfast, author of the newly published and award winning book “The Cultured Club”, Food Scientist and Nutritionist April Danann from Rebel Foods Market Stall in Cork, Head Chef and owner of MISO Sligo Nae Young Jung, Naturopath, Herbalist and chef Gaby Wieland from Neantog Kitchen Garden School and fermentation mixologist Hans Wieland from The Organic Centre.'

Wild Fermentation Demo at Cork Summer Show

The Cork Summer Show is Cork's oldest and largest agricultural show with the additional attractions of family events, gardening and of course food and cookery.  

April Danann will be giving one of her fun and ever popular demonstrations on Wild Fermentation in association with Taste Cork at 4pm.  The Taste Cork zone includes a country market of over 70 local artisan food stalls from all over Munster, making it the ideal place to head for to eat, drink, relax and enjoy a bit of music.  

Natural Rebel Apple Cider vinegars, Natural Rebel Kombucha and Natural Rebel Sauerkraut  will be available to purchase at the Wild Fermentation demonstration - a great opportunity to stock up!

Fermentation of food & drink is an ancient art and a necessary skill to maintain a healthy, balanced gut – turning ordinary vegetables, herbs, fruit and water into a tasty treat is the ultimate quest for the Food Alchemist.

Join April Danann, a West Cork Food Scientist, apple cider vinegar producer & kombucha brewer, for an evening in nature reconnecting to the finer points of nourishing your body, mind & spirit with fermented foods of all kinds.

During this evening workshop you will be introduced to several methods of fermenting foods, various means of increasing nutritional content and bioavailability of nutrients as well as how to create exquisite tasting sourdough breads. Included in the event are all tastings, extensive notes and great craic!
